Val Duthil

These Terms and Conditions govern all services, sessions, and digital products offered by Val Duthil, a sole proprietorship operated by Valerie Duthil (valduthil.com). By booking, purchasing, or participating in any service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full.

Val Duthil reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version will always be available at valduthil.com. Continued use of services following any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

1. Nature of Services    

Val Duthil offers the following services:

• Hypnotherapy — available in person or via Zoom

• Spiritual Hypnotherapy — available in person or via Zoom

• Sound Healing — available in person only
   

All services are complementary and holistic in nature and are intended to support personal growth, insight, and wellbeing. They do not constitute medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice and are not a substitute for professional care.
 

Service descriptions, session formats, and pricing are listed on valduthil.com and through Acuity Scheduling. Prices are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your booking is the price confirmed at the time of booking.
 

2. Bookings

All sessions are booked through Acuity Scheduling, accessible via valduthil.com. A booking is confirmed upon receipt of full payment. You will receive a confirmation email from Acuity Scheduling upon successful booking.
 

By completing a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
 

3. Payments

Payment is required in full at the time of booking. Payments are processed securely through Acuity Scheduling via third-party payment processors including Stripe and Apple Pay. Val Duthil does not store or have access to your payment card details.
 

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to change.
 

4. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Refunds

Clients may cancel or reschedule their appointment via Acuity Scheduling up to 24 hours before their session.
 

Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance are eligible for a full refund.
 

If you choose to reschedule, please note that your session credit is valid for six months from the original session date.

Same-day cancellations and no-shows are non-refundable and no reschedule will be offered.

Late arrivals will not result in an extended session. Sessions end at the scheduled time.
 

If Val Duthil needs to cancel or reschedule, clients will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule.
 

Digital products and online courses are non-refundable once delivered or accessed.
 

Please note: Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 3–5 business days. Once processed, timing is dependent on your financial institution and is outside of Val Duthil's control.

 

5. In-Person Sessions

In-person sessions are held in a home studio in Vancouver, British Columbia. The studio address will be provided upon booking confirmation.
 

Please note that a friendly, well-trained toy poodle is present in the home studio. Clients are notified of this at the time of booking via Acuity Scheduling. Whilst toy poodles are a hypoallergenic breed, this cannot be fully guaranteed. By proceeding with an in-person booking, clients confirm they have read and accepted this notice.
 

6. Online Sessions

Hypnotherapy and Spiritual Hypnotherapy sessions are available via Zoom. Clients are responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection, a suitable private and quiet environment, and access to Zoom prior to their session. Val Duthil is not responsible for technical difficulties on the client's end that affect the delivery of an online session.
 

In the event of a significant technical failure on Val Duthil's end that prevents the session from being delivered, clients will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule at their preference.
 

7. Accessibility

Val Duthil's home studio is located in a building with lift access. Please note that there are stairs leading into the studio space. If you have mobility limitations or accessibility requirements, please contact Val Duthil at connect@valduthil.com before booking so we can discuss suitable options. Zoom sessions are available as a fully accessible alternative for hypnotherapy and spiritual hypnotherapy.
 

Val Duthil's studio is located in an urban environment and occasional external noise such as construction may occur. Every effort is made to ensure a calm and uninterrupted session space. In the rare event that significant noise disruption occurs on the day of your session, Val Duthil will contact you as soon as possible to discuss rescheduling options.
 

8. Client Responsibilities

By booking a session, clients confirm that they:

• Are of legal adult age in their jurisdiction of residence, or have provided written parental or guardian consent (see Section 9)

• Are mentally and physically able to participate in the session and that doing so does not conflict with their current medical or psychological care

• Have disclosed any relevant medical, psychological, or other health conditions prior to their session

• Understand that the services offered are complementary and holistic in nature and are not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment

• Acknowledge that sessions may involve exploration of sensitive, emotional, or unexpected subject matter and accept full personal responsibility for their experience during and after sessions

• Are solely responsible for seeking appropriate professional support before, during, or after sessions if required

• Take full responsibility for any decisions or actions taken as a result of a session

• Will arrive on time for in-person and online sessions

9. Minors

Services are available to individuals of legal adult age in their jurisdiction of residence (19 years in British Columbia; 18 years in most other jurisdictions). Clients under the applicable age of majority may only book with prior written parental or guardian consent. Val Duthil reserves the right to decline bookings from minors at her sole discretion.

 

10. Behavioural Expectations and Energetic Boundaries

Val Duthil's work requires mutual respect, integrity, and presence. Clients are expected to engage with sessions openly and respectfully.
 

Val Duthil reserves the right to pause, terminate, or refuse a session at any time if:

• The client is combative, disrespectful, manipulative, or aggressive in tone, behaviour, or intent

• The client attempts to misuse the session for purposes outside its intended scope

• Val Duthil determines that continuing the session would not be appropriate or safe
   

No refund will be issued for sessions ended early due to inappropriate behaviour or breach of these Terms. If a session is ended early due to mutual misalignment, a partial or full refund may be offered at Val Duthil's sole discretion.

11. Medical Disclaimer

The services provided by Val Duthil are complementary and holistic in nature and are not a substitute for professional medical or mental health treatment. Val Duthil is not a licensed physician or psychologist and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions.

Clients are required to complete an intake and consent form prior to their first session, which includes a full disclaimer and liability release. By booking a session, you agree to complete this form before your appointment.

12. No Guarantee of Results

Val Duthil acts as a facilitator to support clients through their own process of exploration, healing, and personal growth. While many clients experience meaningful shifts and positive outcomes, results are not guaranteed. The effectiveness of any session is dependent on a range of individual factors and varies from person to person. Val Duthil makes no guarantee, warranty, or representation as to the specific results or outcomes of any session.
 

13. Spiritual and Intuitive Content Disclaimer

Spiritual Hypnotherapy sessions may involve exploration of past lives, communication with guides, and other metaphysical experiences. Sound Healing and other sessions may also include the emergence of intuitive or spiritually-received information.

Any intuitive, spiritual, or metaphysical information that arises during a session — including but not limited to impressions received during past life regression, meet your guides sessions, or sound healing — is offered for personal reflection and exploration purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, psychological diagnosis, legal advice, or a factual statement of past, present, or future events.

Val Duthil makes no claims as to the literal accuracy of any intuitive or spiritually-received information. Clients are encouraged to use their own discernment and to seek appropriate professional advice for any decisions of significance in their lives.

14. Confidentiality

Val Duthil treats all client information and session content with the strictest confidentiality. Information shared during sessions will not be disclosed to third parties without the client's explicit consent, except where required by law.

​

Clients are welcome to make their own audio or video recordings of their sessions for personal use. Val Duthil does not record sessions.

​

15. Intellectual Property

All content created and owned by Val Duthil — including but not limited to website content, written materials, meditations, recordings, courses, and digital products — is the intellectual property of Valerie Duthil and is protected by applicable copyright law.

​

No content may be copied, reproduced, shared, distributed, or resold without prior written permission from Val Duthil. Unauthorised use of Val Duthil's intellectual property may result in legal action.

16. Limitation of Liability

By booking and participating in any session, clients voluntarily agree to release Val Duthil (Valerie Duthil) from any and all claims of liability, damages, or injuries resulting from their participation.

​

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Val Duthil shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of services or this website, including but not limited to any decisions made by a client as a result of a session.

​

Val Duthil's total liability to any client shall not exceed the amount paid by that client for the session in question.

17. Force Majeure

Val Duthil shall not be held liable for any delay, failure, or interruption in the performance of services due to circumstances beyond her reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to sudden illness or personal emergency, natural disasters, extreme weather, power or internet outages, platform or technology failures, government restrictions, or any other unforeseeable event that makes it impossible or unsafe to deliver the session.

In such circumstances, Val Duthil will communicate with affected clients as soon as reasonably possible to discuss available options.

18. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any concern or dispute, clients are encouraged to contact Val Duthil directly at connect@valduthil.com in the first instance. Val Duthil is committed to resolving concerns promptly, fairly, and in good faith before any formal escalation is considered.

19. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions or the use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed severed from the remaining terms. All other provisions shall remain valid and enforceable in full force and effect.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with Val Duthil's Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and any intake or consent forms completed prior to sessions, constitute the entire agreement between Val Duthil and the client. No verbal or written communication outside of these documents supersedes their contents unless formally agreed in writing by both parties.
